Egg Tips

The ever reliable eggs. I wonder how many eggs are cooked every day, all over the world.

1. If you are into boiling eggs, and you always get cracked boiled eggs, then there is something that you can do. To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling.

2. Brush beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

3. You want to know if the egg is fresh? To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh-if it rises to the surface, throw it away. You do not want the bad smell around.
